From bottle. Blonde. Oak and lemon in the aroma. Moderately sour flavor with citrus and hints of oak. Long finish. Nice and easy going geuze. Na drie jaar opnieuw geproefd. Mooi gerijpte, strak zure geuze. Doet een beetje ouderwets aan, zo’n lekkere zure uit de jaren 80 en 90. De nodige complexiteit, proef nog steeds wat eigen. Citroentje. Genietbier.

Taster at Toon van den Broek masterclass. Clear golden with small white head. Lactic, herbal, hmmm quite herbal actually with also some leaves again. Flowery and bitter wood. Light sour with medium bitterness. Quite nice.

Bottle shared thanks to JulienHuxley. Pours very hazy orange with a big lively off white head. Aroma of citrus, barnyard funk, cobwebs, dank cellar funk and light tart fruity notes. Flavor is moderate acidic. Light to light medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Really surprisingly good!

Toweringly huge, fine, dense, light yellowish and very stable head over nearly clear orange-golden beer. End of bottle yeast. Lemon and horseblanket dominating the nose, finely spicy, perfumed-soapy. Quite lactic-sour, citrus and again delicately spicy flavour. Again the ’soapy’ touch; wood quite obvious, hint at tannines, lots of lemon. Very tart, superattenuated, very highly carbonated. Convincing? Absolutely. Delicious? Too. As the Belgian gueuzes? Eh - not quite. It appears as a textbook outlining of ’gueuze’, a theoretical drawing, and misses individuality, a marked stamp of personal character. Mind you, this is something that might take more time. In the mean time, we have an excellent sour beer, and somebody might go to the drawing board to imagine a label with some info? What I’m wondering about too is the strange overproduction of foam - very strange for a lambic-based beer. Many thanks, Joes!

Acquired in a trade with 77Ships and we opened this in Belgium so others can rate it as well. This is a new Gueuze from a place in Netherlands. It is rateable but there was no official label yet.

A - HUGE gusher. we could have lost half the bottle if we weren’t careful. . very bubbly huge bubbles head. cloudy beer with a bright orange appearance Looks like every other young Gueuze blend.

S - The nose is nice. Lots of lemon, some banana, grape skins and white wine notes. It smells really good.

T - The taste is okay. It’s quite sweet, has a copper penny metallic note. Oily without much of a body but maybe it just needs more time in the bottle to balance out? Sweet lemon, lime finish with tart acidity like from a kiwi w/ skin.

M - Thin mouth feel and not bursting with carbonation.

O - It’s a nice Gueuze but I’d wait a few years if you have a bottle. Might need more time. Open one now, cellar the other for 2 years.

Thanks to AdamJackson! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Sanne’s birthday tasting. Extremely big gusher, total fountain. Bottled on 04/2014. Hazy orange. Huge zesty funk, reminiscent of actual lambiek, big zest, fizzy lemon, light acidic, tad sugar; Taste carries more residual sweetness than I’m used from geuze, sugar, white bread with nice funk, lemon, lambiek funk in the back, light acidity. Body is fuller than usual, tad soft white bread-like. Very solid & great work.

Taste: bitter touch, very sour, lemony, acidic, some wood tannins. Aftertaste: sourish, lemony, funky, brett, bitter touch, bit woody. Very well done, this Belgian is impressed! Well, except for the gushing part of course. :p

Bottle @ Borefts thx to bierkoning, small sample. Hazy to cloudy golden color, short head. Aroma of funk, barnyard, bit sweet fruitiness, citric. Mostly citric acid in taste with a bit of lactic acid. Nicely balanced, quite soft. Nice stuff.
