Bea is a nicely balanced black IPA. The subtle coffee flavors are taken over by the fruity hop flavors of passion fruit and citrus. Due to the use of rye, the finish is spicy with a refined bitter.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Dark rye bread and roast in the aroma. Roast, rye bread, a hint of smoke and red fruit in the sweet flavor. Loads of flavor, loads of hops. Good beer.

33 cl. bottle @ de Zomer, West-Terschelling. Pitch black with a small beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate and Cherries in the aroma. Taste is medium bitter with a long bitter finish, highlighting the cherries again.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Dense, tan-coloured head leaving lacing rings down the glass. Jet black in the glass. Rather restrained aroma of liquorice and bread, roasted. Mixed taste of grainy chocolate, liquorice, pine, and dark bread followed by roasted malt bitter ending. Well bodied. Nice. (Tromsø 09.04.2018)

Can't believe I haven't had this one. Anyway. Bottle @ home. Black colour with a small beige head. Smells roasty, hops, chocolate, hint of liquorice. Tastes roasty, happy, bitter, chocolate bitterness, some dark chocolate. It's not a black ipa where either the roastyness or the hops is too extreme, but they've found a nice balance. That does make it a nice black ipa but it also makes the beer a bit forgettable. Medium body, nice carbo. A good beer without any big flaws.

Tap at the source. Pours pitch black with some thick brown foam on top. Looking neat. Aroma is roasty but balance between hops and the roast character is very well taken. Juicy, lots of black berries in the taste, some chocolate and roast, still easily drinkable. Very enjoyable, could be one of the best Black IPA's I have tried.
