Can at home, golden beer, small head. Aroma is wheat, fruit, some spices. Taste is the same, wheat, citrus, light tart. not bad.
11.2 oz can, poured cloudy yellow gold with modest white head. Medium bodied. Coriander, pepper and lemon aroma. Taste is pepper, banana and mildly bitter hops. Finish is gently spicy.
Only my second Belgium Witbier. Cloudy yellow gold, small white head, decent retention. I was expecting more foam for a witbier but it's fine. A rather understated aroma of spice, grass, flora, light fruit, citrus. Taste is the same with an emphasis on the citrus in the finish. A nice creaminess to it. A surprising subtlety to this, well balanced. I do find myself preferring the Hoegaarden though.
The Aromas are spicy, funky, pale malt and Floral. Flavors are similar to nose, sweet tart spicy upfront with good carbonation but some oxidation as well. Decent body but the oxidation goes into the Finish.
0.33 l bottle from 'AH XL' (Arnhem), best before April 2021. Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently spicy, quite fruity, slightly floral and moderately yeasty aroma of coriander, orange peel and some banana. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, quite spicy, gently fruity and slightly floral taste of coriander, orange peel, some vanilla and a touch of banana, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little tart, gently yeasty and spicy finish. Almost medium-bodied, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Pleasant Wit, very refreshing, maybe even a bit too spicy and fruity.
Tap at the St Bernardus bar Tokyo. Was surprised I hadn't rated this before. Had sampled a few by the time I got here... Pale blond, big fluffy white head. Aroma herbal, lots of wheat. Bit of lemon and cream. Taste cream and wheat, not so much herbal, quite crisp. Nice. biscuity taste.
Complex aroma with grapefruit, hops, herbs and soap (!). Hoppy, herbal, citric taste. Yeasty. Strong carbonation. Very dry and hoppy for a wit beer.
