75cl bottle sample courtesy of a friend. Funky aroma. Good carbonation. A little tart. Very complex.
Bottle shared at the epic sour sourpuss tasting, massive thanks to a non-ratebeer friend. Pours fairly hazy golden with an off white head. Aroma of big funk and horse blanket, oak, musty cellar, dank, mold and old tart fruits. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light moderate sour. Velvety smooth mouthfeel and incredibly complex palate, developing with each sip. Leather coming out and light citrus touches. Full bodied with (still!) light carbonation. Feel so lucky to have had the chance to try this. Damn..,

9/XI/12 - 75cl bottle @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - brewed: '94-'97, bottled: 1998 (2012-1259) Huge thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy orange to pale amber beer, small aery white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: some banana, lemony, bit dusty, peppery, wood tones, moulded cork. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lemony sour start, bitter undertone, grape skin, dry, bit peppery. Aftertaste: dusty, moulded cork, dry tannins, citric acidity, pretty bitter again, woody, a little off. Beer has survived well, but it's not as amazing as some people claim.
Bottle shared @ the Sour & Bitter event in Copenhagen. Pours hazy reddish golden with a huge frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sour with lemon juice, hay, funk, barnyard, grapefruit juice, leather, sweat, apples, horse blanket, plums and pleasant and suiting hints of oxidation. Taste is swour with apples, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, hay, leather, lemon zest, barnyard, grape zest, horse blanket and hints of oxidation. Mouthfeel is smooth, tart and medium to full bodied. Finish is sour and tart with lemon juice, orange peal, leather, apples and horse blanket. Amazing!
Bottle @ Too many Geuze’s - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012 - Day 1. Hazy golden color with a nice white head. Aroma and taste of lemon, other citric fruit peel, barnyard, vinegar, quite fruity not as sour as I expected it to be. Very earthy, balanced. great stuff !
Another insanely generous bottle shared by Destructo at his 3F vertical dinner. Clear golden yellow pour with a white head. A great nose highlighted by citrus and supple barnyard aromas. WOW, simply outstanding. Complex, tart, superbly balanced with citrus, floral, sour funk, and barnyard notes. This, in my opinion, is Geuze perfection.....
Bottle shared by Koopa at Alan’s tasting. Thanks Dennis! Pours apricot with white head. Nose and taste of earthy tart apricot, champagne yeast, funky lemons and salted apple skins. Wonderful.
Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th ’11. Courtesy of Tampabrew.
