Vita Valen 2019-12-14 Göteborg, vintage 2014 AR: warming, alcoholic, bourbon, vanilla AP: dark brown, cream brown lid F: warming feeling, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coconut
Batch ’12. Bottle shared with vestergaard and rasmusott. Pours pitch black with a dark brown mocha head. Aromas of smooth bourbon. Results in a vanilla sweetness, coconut, fudge, dark sweet fruits, dark roasted coffee beans, milk chocolate. Taste is pretty strong roasted coffee up front, fudge, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, milk chocolate sweet dark fruits. Oaky dry roasted finish.
I had high hopes for this, but it's a bit disappointing. Barrel ageing is done pretty sharp, lots of bourbon that takes away some of the creamy chocolate of the base, and makes it a bit thin. A pretty solid BBA stout, but no more than tht.
Bottle @ Slovak tasting 08/2019. Thin, dark tanned, quick diminishing to some bubbles. Colour is black, opaque. Aroma is rich dark malts, chocolate, vinous, woody, caramel, cognac, vanilla, complex. Taste is full malty base, coffee, caramel, toffee, cocoa, dark dried fruits, chocolate, vanilla, really great one, fully enjoyed.
Tap @MBCC2018, Green Session. Black, tan head. Bourbon and coffee aroma. Sweet flavour, syrupy coffe, roasted malt, sweet bourbon. Very drinkable. Rock solid.
