31 December 2023. New Year’s Eve Tasting - massive thanks to Gregory for sharing this bottle!
Vintage 2014. Hazy dark golden, stable, frothy, off-white head. Expressive aroma of wet hay, barnyard, oak, vanilla, fermenting green apple & apricot, horseblanket, grass, cheese, sourdough, vague white pepper. Taste has very sour green apple, plum & gooseberry receiving a funky treatment of lactic acid, vinegar, leather & hay, kept together by a sourdough-like malt body and somewhat balanced by softly bitter notes of straw & wood. Finishes with old grassy & earthy hops, tart green apple and stone fruit's stone, yet maintaining a bitter backbone of wood (tannins) and hay, keeping the whole thoroughly dry as well. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Noticeably more 'bitter' than your average Geuze but evidently well structured within the complex sour profile, a real banquet of wild fermentation. Lovely!
Bottle. Almost clear golden. Bright funk, peach, apricot, oak, a bit more sour than regular 3F geuze I would say, more also more tannic which gives it a fuller body. Very nice.
17.07.2023: 0,375l bottle at home. Bottled 08.02.2018. amber hazy color, small white head. smells funky, cellar notes, cheesy, oak, grassy, earthy, lovely smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes funky, cheesy, peppery, some minerality, light oxidation notes. finishes lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of pepper, funk and cheesy notes. lovely, tons of funk on both smell and taste, just the way I like it. Great complexity. Usually I am not that big of a fan with pepper forward beers, but here it works great. Love the balance!

Small to medium off-white head over hazy orange beer. Intense horseblanket, lemon, lemonpeel, mold, stonefruit as (unripe) peach. Lactic acid, horseblanket, lemon, hints of brown candi sugar, if without any sweetness. Complex grains and a whiff of phenols. Acidburn and -thinning; very well carbonated. Ultra dry. Another top oude gueuze, complex as few.

Pours unclear, amberblonde. No head. Scent is full-on funk, wet oak. Funky. Taste is full, mild acidity . Loads of oak, lemon acid sticks out, but doesn't dominate the acidity. Lovely batch !
Lci... Great!
