Bottle @ home. Hazy golden colour, white foam. Nose of citrus, some pepper, barnyard, funk. Taste is tart, well balanced, unripe fruit, some peppery notes. Very well balanced but I liked Herfst en Winter more.
Bottle bought at the brewery some years ago. Extreme sourish horse-blanket nose. The beer starts sour-fresh. Extreme sour tart dry body. Grainy with an intense dry sourness. Funky with lots of horse-blanket. Complex with sour fruity parts, smooth, sourish dry aftertaste with woody hints and fresh yeasty sourness. Very nice!
From bottle shared at Ratebeer Best awards and bottle-share. Hazy orange color with of white head. Yeasty aroma, funky dusty, barnyard, tart citrusy, lemon, grass and some piney notes, wood. Light sweet and light to moderate acidic taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
Vollmundiger, zitronig säuerlicher Antrunk. Weiche Noten, etwas Getreide, erdig. Sehr süffig, die Säure fährt deutlich zurück. Komplex, mild fruchtig, intensiv. Langer Nachhall. Super! 12/13/14/14/12/14
With Toni from Erzbierschof and anstei. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is very distinct, flowery, citrusy. Taste is citrusy, perfumed. Some rubber, some old bread. Simply good. Full body. A fantastic blend, and yes, spring. I’m blown away by what Toni is offering tonight.
Bottle at Zwanze Day Zurich. I’m in heaven today. This is geuze. Strong carbonization, crisp, but balanced in all respects. Flowery.
24th Jan 2015: shared bottle at the Cotteridge Wine meet. Brought and poured by a proud Steve (Beersiveknown) during the event. . Hazy golden body with a mean, thin white head. Sour from the off, this is one tart beer with a heavy citrus presence within it’s flavouring. Not my sort of beer usually, but this was very pleasant and a good foil for the malty sweeter beers it was surrounded by on the tasting day. Acidic but nice!
Sample from a bottle shared with friends. Decent white head. Barnyard funk aroma. Sour. very good for the style.
