dok brewing festival
Yeah no. Dunno what the attempt was here, but pretty sure it wasn't this. Bitter, somewhat creamy mouthfeel but all the flavours are very thin and flat. Not tasting bad, just not tasting much at all. Pity.
@ Dok Bierfestival. Dark brown colour, brown foam. Nose of coffee, roasted malts, dried fruit, caramel. Rather sweet but enough roastiness. Good stout.
28/04/2019 @home - 33cl bottle from the brewery (thanks Dimi!) Black colour, nice brown head, when smaller with a yellow hue. Nose is nice roasted malts, dark chocolate, faint fruits. Taste start pretty roasted, dark chocolate, cake, bit fruits but not much, vanilla touch, pretty roasted ending. Much more bitter roasted than expected. Solid!
Draft @ BBP taproom.

A: dark malts, chocolate, cocoa, bit vinous, dried dark fruits. T: rich dark malty base, chocolate, cocoa, dried fruits, bit toffee, bit herbal, full body and carbonation, very nice, complex, fully enjoyed.
2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Cloudy black with a lasting, thin, frothy, dark beige head; some lacing. 'Dark' aroma of teriyaki, cinnamon, butterscotch, mocha, salty licorice, black olive, milk chocolate, coffee liqueur. Taste is medium malty sweet, lots of chocolate & toffee backed by a nutty edge of peanut & cashew, turning medium roasted bitter in the middle, quite toasty, some creamy mocha & fruity notes of dried fig & raisin, slight accent of umami teriyaki. Dryish, herbal & earthy hoppy finish, lingering toffee, chocolate, subtle warming whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Lovely stuff, pastry indeed but not overdone, one of the best at the festival.
Thanks for sharing tderoeck + Rubin77! Sampled draft @ Bierfestival Brugge 2019. Black with a mocha head. Nose is low boozy sweet almonds, walnut, cheap chocolate, sweet coffee. Taste is thick basic but tasty chocolate syrup, sweet nuts, mocha, flavouring extracts and faint tonka, quite tasty & really good for BBP.
