12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 2/4/2015. Pours lightly hazy orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/floral hops and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light nuttiness, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of citrus/piney hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hoppy amber ale. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of citrus/piney hops and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
Bottle. Toffee malt and pine/grapefruit peel hops aroma. Cloudy amber color with moderate head. Light malt and strong orange/grapefruit peel/pine hops flavor. Good hoppy beer.
