Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/20/2017. Pours opaquely hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7.2%. Overall this is an awesome NEIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank Amarillo hop profile; balanced malt backbone. Never aggressively bitter or malty either way. Really well balanced NEIPA. A really enjoyable offering.
Thanks Dr. Steele for sharing the can! Poured into a snifter showing hazy orange with quickly dissipating clean white foam. The nose shows a lot of melon and orange. The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Flavors of light melon and a moderate bitterness.
Can thanks to Randy. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with small white head that lasts. The aroma is strong grapefruit, pine, melon, grass. Medium body, grapefruit pith, strong pine, lingering bitterness, very good.
