Seasonal beer bought at Brouwershuis in Baarle-Hertog in 2005, not sure if it is still made. Not a saison, contrary to what the simple red label says, rather a kind of special amber. Anyway: yellowish, moussy, stable head on an orangey amber colour, cristal clear. Fruity and caramelly aroma of apple, melon, grapefruit, curry, tomato, broth, cookies, vanilla, cinnamon and liquorice. Fruity sweetish taste, caramelly and bit nutty malts, lots of strange spicy notes, smooth finish with little hops. Different, that’s for sure.

14/X/13 - 75cl bottle @ home - BB: not quite sure, could be III/1993 (2013-959) Thanks to Tinus for sharing the bottle!

Clear red to orange beer, aery white creamy head, little stable (wow!), adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet liquor touch, orange peel, sherry notes, cellar, bit moldy, mildew. MF: soft to no carbon (guess it all went into the head), medium to light body. Taste: very sweet start, caramel, orange peel, sherry notes, little spicy. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, sherry, sugar, caramel, bit of walnuts, soft bitterness, sweet sugary ending.
