Bottle. Dark brown color. Dominant lapsang souchong tead in the spicy, soft caramelly aroma. Malty sweet caramelly spicy flavor with dominant lapsang souchong. Alcoholic. Not my cup of tea.
Tap at Pivoteka. Nice aroma, anise, speculoos, sweetish, but slightly cloying. Taste... Sweetish, anise, smoked notes, vague pepper burn. Almost no bitterness, well hidden abv for 9%. (8.9%, thanks Ogi!). Nice.
Bottle. Aroma of smoke, honey, mild peppers, anise and malt. Taste has smoke, anise, honey, ginger, malt and smokey tea. Very nice.
van tap @BFGM'18, amber met witte kraag, aroma van anijs, redelijk kruidig, zoet, mout, smaken evenzo, komt binnen als hoestdrank, siroop, anijs, peper, gember, matige body, lichte chili, slap, overall weird.
Drak brown color with an off-white head. Aroma has ginger notes and toasted hints. Flavor with very herbal notes, mainly dominated by anise and ginger, light toasty. Herbal notes with honey hints.
0.33 l bottle from 'Rudat', bottled in October 2017. A bit hazy, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, salty-spicy and a bit smoky aroma of caramel, lapsang souchong (obviously), seaweed and anise. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, rather spicy, slightly smoky and a bit salty taste of caramel, lapsang souchong, seaweed, ginger and some anise, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather salty-spicy, peppery and slightly smoky finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very interesting, lots of spices in here but the flavours match well. Nice, but very special.
Bottle from het Biermoment, dated 13-10-17. Dark brown color, short frothy head. Spicy aroma of ginger and star anise, some toffee and toasted malts, slight smokey tea. Nicely balanced. Similar in flavor, bit more smoked tea, slight chili in the finish. Very nicely balanced, interesting flavors combined. Lovely beer.
Bottle at home. Dark brown with white head. Herb bomb. Star anise, rooibos tea, licorice, lemongrass, did someone catch a fish? I wish you stayed in the bottle you crazy ass herb genie you. Lapsang gunpowder rooibos nori seaweed 'waiter! there's beer in my tea'. I don’t know why this stuff is made, certainly not to enjoy a full bottle of. I bet the brewing was fun though, throwing them fisheyes in that witches brew! If I close my eyes I taste raw coli flower, with a caramel sauce, in all liquid form. Craft coli flower. Liquid farts with brown sugar. But okay, opinions right. And to be fair it's not that Bad really, maybe just a bit Ugly. I love to taste these vegetal notes of madame Jeanette peppers because that's mmmm Good! And yes, some floral and sweet honey. Ah I shouldn't bitch this is a pretty nice brew. Moderate sweet and bitter and some profound fishy umami (I guess), over medium body and soft carbonation. Smoke is nice but doesn’t go well with tea, for me personally. Smoke is nice when meaty, not when fishy. Back to my tinfoil hat, cuckoo!
