Aged sample Small beige head over fully hazy ochre-brown beer. Alcohol, booze, even some solvent/ketone/aldehyde. Pharmaceutical, dried herbs, banana, cypress, cinnamon. Sweet, dried fruit as dates, dried banana, raisins. Again solvent, alcohol, fusels. Hazelnutoil past BBdate. Brandy/Calvados. Retronasal indeed sherrywood, but too sweet for good PX. Very oily M; burning sensation. Alcoholheat and -thinning, but not lean. Better than the sum of its parts. Takes a moment to get used to. Remains a bit unbalanced, however.
Stunning nose but the base beer was too spicy for me. Bottle shared at 40 FT thanks to Roman at Solvay.
Bottle. Color: Copper to amber brown, light beige head. Aroma: Malty with spices like Nutmeg and Cloves. Taste: Medium sweet, lightly sour and moderate bitter, quite spicy with notes of nutmeg and cloves, light apple Calvados notes and I think I also get some stronger sweetish PX Sherry notes, although it's quite hard for me to make out all the different flavours. Complex stuff. Bit boozy finish. At the finish there are a bit less spices and more boozy notes and tannins from the used barrels. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Complex, well balanced, nice stuff.
Sampled from bottle @ late RBBSG 2018. Sort of copper dark orange color, small white head. Aroma is malts, heavily spiced. Taste confirms my suspicions: malts, a lot of spices / herbs, mainly spices though, probably cinnamon or nutmeg. Really not my thing at all. Quite heavy, boozy as well. Not for me this one.

Taste: pretty sourish, lemony, lemon juice, alcohol, little bitter, acidic, lots of alcohol. Aftertaste: bitter touch, bit fruity, alcohol, some tannins, unpleasant funk, malts.
