My second beer at the breweries ESB location on 18th Jan 2013. Looked like a lager/pilsner: tasted like a lager/pilsner. Bright, clean and clear body of golden liquid, on top a thin snow white head. No smell worthy of mention: gets an average score like most lagers. Dry more than sweet, grainy more than hoppy. Nothing wrong with it: but could have been any number of lagers/pilsners from anywhere in the world.
Location: On tap at the Brewery - Union Square, 3/23/10
Aroma: Nose is Belgian yeast and spice with some underlying notes of corn and caramel malts
Appearance: Pours a hazy orange color
Flavor: The familiar Belgian yeast flavors dominate the sweet corn/malty flavors
Palate: The body is light-medium with an overly fizzy mouthfeel that detracts from the beer
Overall Impression: This one is definitely better then the normal Cornhusker lager, but it still isn't so great. The spice and flavors from the Belgian yeast are definitely an improvement on the recipe, but the over-carbonation is still an issue, and the beer itself still isn't really that great.
