Bottle shared during the Quintessence 2018 afterparty at Moeder. Thank you Jacob! Thick chestnut brown pour with a small frothy offwhite head. Heavy bourbon nice with plenty of apple/pear esters and dried dark fruits. Soft caramel toffee malts and some earthy soil hops. Sweet, slightly bitter and fairly boozy taste. Thick and viscous mouthfeel. Much better than expected but still not really my kind of beer.
28/04/2018 – 10cl glass shared with an international ratebeer crew @ZBF2018 Brown, no head. Nose is heavy boozy, chocolate, some fruits. Taste is gentle roast, toffee, bit vanilla, oily start.
Taster, courtesy of SinH4, many thanks! Pours dark dense brown. Aroma is vanilla, strong bourbon, ripe dried fruit. Body is heavy and strong, boozy and sweet, yet clearly a quad and not an impy stout. Fruity and not as viscous, also surprisingly easy to drink, even with some booze burn. Warming and pleasant, without compromising on flavours. Very good!
Intensiv malziger Beginn ohne Karbonisierung. Holz, Kakao, etwas Schokolade. Kuchen, wenig Alkohol, harmonisch. 11/10/11/10//11
Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A very dark brown beer. Aroma of Whisky, vanilla, strong riped fruits, caramel. Taste of vanilla, strong reddish fruits, vanilla, caramel, boozy, nice.
Bottle, many thanks Erzengel & Beerhunter111 & Kappldav123! Murky dark brown color with brown head. Aroma is super intense whisky, chocolate, fudge. Taste is fudge, chocolate, whisky, intense, but still quite balanced. Warming booze in the back. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Very good!
Many thanks to Kappldav123 for this bottle. Deep malty roasted beginning. Round and deep, the whisky is deep and woody, harmonising extremely well with the dark smooth beer. Long intense dark malty aftertaste with lots of malty depth.
330 ml bottle at home from trade with Biroholik. Dark brown color with small beige head. Malty aroma, roasted notes, dark dried fruits, raisins, plums, caramel, some chocolate notes, vanilla, alcohol - whiskey, wood. Moderate to heavy sweet and moderate to light bitter taste like aroma but better and less alcoholic. Full silky oily body with soft carbonation.
