Pastrytown. Pours black. Chocolate, barrel, biscuit, liquorice, little roast. Somewhat thin. Fine.
Kind of a blend between imperial stout and barley wine to me. The aromas are definitely leaning more towards barley wine with figs, dates, walnuts, dark malt and hints of roast, and toffee. Flavors are lots of barley one qualities but blending with Imperial Stout. Bittersweet up front with raisins figs dates and some black patent coming in next, some roast and maple. Very nice easy-going blend. Great body carbonation and finish. No sign of alcohol. Really nice beer.
Pours black, no real head. Smell is bit boozy, mild chocolate. bourbon. Taste is full, sweet, coffee, roasty; tad heat by the alcohol. Coffee, milder maple. Relatively intense. Bit too boozy though.
