Tap (in 2018 as "6 year old" - most probably the same barrel as this one was, just one year later). Looks like Oude Lambik looks like. Compared to a regular 2yo Oude Lambik, this has tons of barrel character, honey, orange flesh, caramel, very sweet. Quite amazing, but also very sweet, making it hard to drink. Super interesting nonetheless!

Little hazy copper orange beer, no head. Aroma: lots of orange peel, little dusty, dry fruity touch, bit funky. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of caramel malts, sweet almonds, alcohol noticeable, cognac notes. Aftertaste: fruity notes, orange peel, marzipan, pretty bitter, more cognac, lots of tannins. Very heavy, hard to drink a lot of this.

Gravity poor at Tour de Gueze 2017 at Boon. Aged for 5 years in a barrique and not a foeder. Usually used for blending purposed. 200 ml. glass. Dark orange, far darker than a younger lambiek, only a few bubbles. Nose is weird, heavy yoghurt, rotting orange peel. Taste is strange orange peel, rotting orange peel, oxidized with almost sweet oxidized oak notes,... Body is flat old orange peel, oxidized oak. Took some time to get into this one for me. It is clear where the progression went here, seems like a wonderful beer for blending but I in general don’t really get into lambiek this old. Hard to drink compared to a 2 year old one for instance. Happy to have tried, very interesting experience for sure but a bit much for me.

Bottle - Stone fruity funk and some orange peel. Cloudy gold with almost no head. Stone fruit and weird bitterness. Not good.

At TDG 2017. Pours darker blonde. No head ofcourse. Smell is very complex , woody, nice sour touch, bit fruity. Taste is very full, thick, bit sweet (not a sweet beer though ! ) almost honey like silkyness from the wood. Some vanilla. Mild sourness, very full, almost buttery, super soft lambic.
