By aging the 'Bruinen Os' on a red wine barrel, a dry, slightly sour red ale is created. Very rich tannins, vanilla, peppery and chocolate flavours

Small head, cream-coloured and fast gone over hazy amber-red beer. Bit rotting aroma, old wine on decaying winebarrels; lactic acid, brown candi sugar. Again this rotting flavour, old sweaty chocolate; sweet, rotting fruit. Alcoholheat, quite slick to lightly viscous. Definitely: not a succes!

Bab 2016. Thnx to Tderoeck and 77ships for sharing the beers ! Pours unclear muddy brown. Small white head. way lighter than the basebeer. Smell is sweet, red wine, bit roasty. Taste is sharp, red wine. Doughy, some sweetness. Fruity, not bad. Unfortunately though, the tastes didn’t really blend - as the wine totally overpowers the beer.

Thank you for sharing kraddel + tderock + Rubin77! Sampled CASK @ Bruges Beer Festival 2017. Dark red with big tanned bubbles head. Nose is sour glue, vinegar, sour berries, lovely wine with some sweet fruit puree qualities, figs, dark fruits, prunes,... Regular one was weak but here the wine just masks everything for me. Body is a mess, crazily watery, lacking carbonation. Taste is very watery but with great red wine, low Oud Bruin glue, vinous with prunes, figs & berries. Wine is great but this really needed more body, cask might have not been the best idea of they should have just used a heavier & thicker brew to age.

5/II/17 - cask @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2017-118) Thanks to 77ships, kraddel and Rubin77 for sharing today's beers!

Clear pale brown beer, very aery big bubbled beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, caramel, sugary, spicy, red wine notes, lots of vanilla. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, buttery, vanilla, cookies, caramel, diacetyl again, red wine vinegar. Aftertaste: lots of butter, bit sourish, sweet, caramel, ripe banana. Please, enough with the diacetyl all right! The barrel is masking a lot, especially in the nose, but you can't hide it. Don't like it.
