Malty, has pleasant orange, feels more British than Belgian. Saison feel is subdued. Quite bitter

Klein minpuntje voor gushen. Smaakt zoet, kruidig, moutig.

Bottle. Golden color. Citric peachy floral aroma and flavor. Malty yet dry. White pepper. Soft tart notes. Yeasty herbal finish. Quite decent.

RB backlog. Breadcrust, orange zest, tangy. Dry, astringent bitterness, bready. Kight body with very active carbonation. Too active carbonation on a too bitter beer. Maybe because it's overdue, should give a fresher bottle another try.

Bitter orange saison from the Dochter, bottle bought at Koelschip in Ostend. Very strong gusher, taking me fifteen minutes to open it fraction by fraction in trying to reduce the loss to a minimum - which eventually succeeded. Very thick, rocky, towering high but loose and slowly diminishing, large-bubbled, off-white head over a hazy amberish peach blonde beer, deep orangey and warm, with strings of fine fizz. Aroma of - alas - some oxidized, 'rusty' malts already, next to more pleasant impressions of lively orange peel and even delicately fragrant orange water, peach, caramel candy, turnips, straw, old bread, melon, honey, persimmon, soap. Estery onset, peachy with notes of light banana and tamarillo, softish and bit minerally carbonation, very bready malt sweetish middle with a thin caramelly edge as well as something vaguely toasty; retronasal return of oxidation but also this delicate, fragrant orange water effect from the bitter oranges, followed by quite firm, spicy, leafy hop bitterness and quite a lot of spicy phenols. Ends earthy and a bit 'dirty'. Too old, this is clearly not what it used to be anymore, as I can imagine this being very bright, elegant and delicate when young; in this form, however, too dirty and phenolic and not quite up to this brewery's usual quality standard. Have an extra point for originality, though.

Bottle shared with friends at Pivoteka, Zagreb in autumn of 2017. Thanks! Gushing! Murky dark golden, frothy off-white head. Some orange, some yeast and lots of cardboard. Old. Dry, spoilt, alcohol. Light body, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Unfortunately, beers from this brewery reached me in bad condition. I see it's a good beer, so I'd love to try it again, this time fresh.

0,33l bottle at home. BB 09/2018. golden clear shiny color, quite big yellowish / off-white head. smells grassy, earthy, yeasty, light caramel, flowery, light dill. nice smell overall. full body, bubbly but light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes rather heavy, citrus, caramel, earthy, peppery, some flowers. finishes lightly to medium bitter with notes of citrus, caramel and earthy notes. nice one but also not overly special.

Bottle. Hazy orange color. Aroma of orange peel, yeast, caramel, citrus and vanilla. Taste has herbal dry yeast, citrus, orange zest, vanilla, white grape and pleasent eaters. Tasty beer, different from most saisons.

Bottle @ DvdK, 33 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, big rocky head. Aroma has nice peppery yeast, soft flowery and fruity notes. Peppery in taste, soft bitterness. Wonderfully balanced as you would expect from DvdK. Instant classic.
