THANKS to Travlr! Sampled draft @ Oedipus during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016! Deep dark red amber, little tanned head. Nose is massive cherry & oak, low candy, some funk. This one is a tad more funky & less sour upfront compared to the sour one. It starts out with candy, red fruit but quickly evolves into harsh vinegar & paint thinner, sour red fruit, cherry, thinned & funk. Substantial body not very different from the Sour one, sourness really build, red fruit & oak saves this one, great notes, drinking a glass of this might be a bit harsh.
Tap @ Oedipus, small size glass. Hazy deep red-brown color. Light beige head. Aroma’s: sour, almond. Retronasal it’s sour, fruit peel, cherrues. Flavor is sharp sour. Light bodied. Sourish and dry finish. I didn’t much difference with the sour version, or maybe they gave me the wrong one?
Draft at the source. Hazy amber color, tan head. Aroma of plums and red wine. Taste is sour plums, grapes, light tannin. Lightly acetic. OK.
On tap at Oedipus. Hazy, dark reddish amber with a beige head. Sweetish, fruity and a little funky aroma of caramel, brown sugar, nuts, chocolate, vinegar, oak and red grapes. Sour, sweetish, fruity and a little funky taste of caramel, brown sugar, nuts, chocolate, red grapes, vinegar and oak, followed by a medium long, moderately tart finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent and astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
