THANKS to Travlr! Sampled draft @ Oedipus during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016! Dark reddisch brown, creamy tanned head. Nose is sour vinegar Flemish red, oak, massive red cherry, sour oak fooder. Taste is crazily sour, vinegar, basic oak, sour vinegar, Oud Bruin glues, vingar, very sour & puckering & lively. Not too different from the funky version. Sourness is crazy but big oak & red cherry notes save it neat. I liked it quite a bit.
Tap @ Oedipus, small size glass. Deep red-brown color, slightly hazy. Creamy off white head. Aroma’s: sour, fruity/cherries. Retronasal it’s sourish, cherries, almond. Flavor is rahter sharp sour. Light bodied. Quite sour, refreshing on this hot day, but I couldn’t drink too much of it.
Draft at the source. Hazy maroon amber color, white head. Aroma of plums, grapes. Taste is acetic dark fruit, light tannins. Too tart for my tastes, but this might suit others nicely.
Sampled from tap at Oedipus. Clear, dark reddish amber with a beige head. Sweetish-sourish, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, almond, some vinegar and red grapes. Sourish, sweetish, somewhat fruity taste of caramel, brown sugar, nuts, chocolate, red grapes, vinegar and some wood, followed by a medium long, rather tart finish. Medium body, rather effervescent and astringent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very nice and interesting!
