Modeste 2015. Pours rather clear blonde. Big white, stable head. Smell is yeasty, more fully than the average saison. Taste is a bit dry, mildly bitter. Sharp carbo, good MF. Somme bitter hops in the taste, as well as some maltyness. Very balanced.
Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ Modeste 2015. Lightly hazy orange, creamy white head. Nose is crazily sweet, almonds, caramel, sugar, biscuit, big sweet caramel. Taste is crazy big sweet caramel, sugar, candy, caramel, peach. Sweet caramel body. Light iron note in body & taste. Insanely sweet (disregarding the proposed style even) but still nice overall. Not a bad beer.
At Modeste, from a 75 cl bottle. Dense, moussy, off-white head over a hazy orange blonde beer. Spicy aroma of paprika powder, candied orange, caramel, pink peppercorns, raspberry, butterscotch, chamomille. Crisp, fruity, bit estery onset with medium carbo, bit peachy, raspberries, hint of orange peel, smooth caramelly malt sweetness, spicy notes all the way through but gently so, enhanced by lightly peppery and softly herbal hop bitterishness in the end; the dried orange peel impression stayed with me the longest. Too sweet for a saison in my opinion, but still another well-crafted, interesting Inter-Pol brew.
