Speaking of going up in flame, this one gushed all over the place, leaving almost all 4€ in the sink ... great HTD, and way to offer a great beer for your festival. Bottle# 1805, BB ’at least 2018’.

Sampled from bottle @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival. Hazy orange color, huge soapy off-white head. Smell and taste sourish, unripe fruits, a hint of sugar, brown malts and smoke. Weird and not my thing.

Eigenaardig biertje. Zurige geur, peaked, zuur en zoet in smaak. Zuur en licht bitter in de afdronk, die lang op de tong blijft

at ZBF15. Thnx for sharing, people ! Pours unclear blonde to amber. Smell is sweet, with a tart back. Taste is sour, intense, rather harsh. Bit of aceton as well

#2000 Belgian Beer. 330 ml. bottle sampled @ ZBF 2015. Brewer asked me whether I really wanted to try this beer since it is really difficult, sour & peated. I think that the real reason why he tried to talk to me was because it was a huge GUSHER, a real fountain. I wouldn’t want to open bottles like that all day long either. He is the one who made I so & decided to sell it. Hazy to murky orange, little head. Nose is lactic, tart lemon, peat is light but only in the back, some brett, soured,… Taste is lactic, sour, rather one note, light funk, some plastic, lemon, sourness is light but clearly lactic, peat is light & in the background,… Fizzy. Rather simple, could have been more complex & extremer for me. Still it drank rather well & I enjoyed. Lots of Hof ten Dormaal beers have issues with them in my opinion. I actually rather enjoyed this one. A pleasant surprise. (Thx! for sharing people!)

25/IV/15 - 33cl bottle @ ZBF 2015 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2015-509) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!

Gusher alert!
Little hazy orange beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. aroma: sourish, bit smoky, sweet, waffles, caramel, bit funky. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity, some pineapple, sourish, lemony, soft smoky touch. Aftertaste: lemony, bitter, lemon peel, pretty acidic. Not bad!
