Cask @ BAB’14. The Timmermans sleeping giant has awaken from its slumber. What a nice surprise to see them renew with the old tradition.
#3200. Draft @ Brugs Bier Festival 2014. Golden, bubbles on the sides. Nose is quite lactic, interesting, quite sour, citrus, wild berries. Taste is very lactic sour, raw citric acid but never overkill, balance, grains, touch herbs, puckering, total dry-out, solid backbone, fuller than expected. Much like the new Kriekenlambiek this is awesome, the pure lambiek & kriekenlambiek were never the issue, this is a huge leap forward. What we really want now is to see this continued through to the bottled stuff.
Draught Good imitation of B.C."H."; hazy yellow beer with faint verdigris sheen. Fine, delicious sherry-like lambicnose, utterly amazing with touches of citrus, saddlesoap, delicate wild flowers. Citrus, banana, lactic acid, straw, barnyard flavours. Bonedry, dry-out effect, totally superattenuated. Timmermans under WvH just rocks. This is unbelievable, a 180° turn.

1/II/14 - on tap @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2014-151) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!
Note: well, this seems to be the new trend in lambic land, making "assemblages" or "blends" and then NOT turning them into geuzes, but just having them on draft. Well, I don't mind, especially when it's such a good stuff!
Little cloudy dark orange beer, no head. Aroma: fruity nose, lemony, some sour red berries, bit funky, grapefruit notes. MF: no carbon, full body. Taste: lots of gooseberries, little cheesy, fruity, lemony, pretty sourish yet very pleasant. Aftertaste: bit sour, soft bitterness, lots of lemon juice, lime, tangerines, nice citric ending. Lovely lambic blend!
