Bottle during Black Sunday. Pours a black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, ash, char. Thick mouth, chewy chocolate, coffee, burnt wood, maple, nice vanilla, really enjoyed this one.
Bottle 750ml.Clear dark black brown colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, moderate roasted. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, vanilla, vanilla beans, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130913]
@RBBWG14. Thanks to Sebletitje. Dark brown/black colour. Some brown/beige foam. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Dry and bitter finish. Very well balanced between sweetness and bitterness.
Bouteille 75cl courtesy of Ibrew2or3.
75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Sebletitje. GUSHER. Pours a very dark blackish brown with a vanishing dark mocha head. Nose is heavy on the roast, caramel, mocha, coffee powder, all bitter & heavy on the roast. Charcoal upfront in the taste, bitter coffee grounds, charred barrel, faint sweetness in the back, mocha. Bit thin & fizzy. Would have preferred personally if there had been more sweetness in this & not bitter grounds and charcoal. Not a bad beer but I think that CCB can reach greater heights than this.

18/I/14 - 75cl bottle @ RBBWG III, my place - BB: n/a (2014-88) Thanks to Sebletitje for sharing the bottle!
Black beer, big fluffy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: mocha, roasted malts, caramel, smoky touch, rich vanilla smell, charcoal. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of coffee, caramel, mocha, charcoal, bit sweet. Aftertaste: coffee, mocha, bit sugary, bitter hops, roasted malts, some vanilla, little sourish.
Sampled from a 0.75l bottle @ Top Hops (BA) Bottle Share. Yeah, it's really dark and black in the glass this one - with a small islandy brown head. It has a fantastic aroma filled with vanilla, dark roasted malts, chocolate, fudge and a strong molasses sweetness. The mouthfeel is silky thick and oily and the carbonation is just prickling on the tongue. The taste has creamy chocolate, lots and lots of vanilla pods, dark coffee and a lovely sweetness to it. A really really fine one I would not mind revisiting again and again. 15.06.2013
