Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Caramelly, sugary aroma with molasses. Sugary sweet flavor with tobacco, molasses and licorice. Some caramally bitterness in the aftertaste. Burning alcohol.
Bottle, from City Hops. Pours clear reddish dark brown, large foamy beige head, caramel malt aroma, hi carbonation, initially sweet caramel taste turning bitter towards the end, alcohol undertones, thin, smooth body, long bitter caramel malt finish. Smooth and potent.
Pours very dark brown. MĂ©dium small, tanned head. Smell is full, caramel, creamy. Taste is full, caramel, robust, sharp, bitter, very sweet ending, mild chocolate notes even. Very malty, dark bread. Chocolaty sweetness towards the ending. Pretty nice! Never too sweet by the balancing bitterness. But more to the sweet, malty side for sure. Very balanced, but more intense and bombastic than you might expect from a German beer.
Copper color with medium beige head. Aroma of malt, biscuits, caramel. Taste, malt, caramel, dried fruits, syrup. Little bit boozy. Very good.
