Pours unclear brown. No real head. Scent is very oak forward, virgin oak 'bite' to it. Taste is creamy, loads of fresh oak. lots of vanilla, quite impressive trough 'simplicity' , this one doesn't shine trough great spirit 'addition' (trough BA) , but rather a great fusion of flavors and aromas. Impressive stuff - I still don't love the thin body and low taste profile that is typical to La Trappe, but the oak influences are quite damn nice ! Shows spices, cardamom.
Fairly dark, light ruby. Some carbonation but head vanishes fast. Smells sweet, caramel, maltyness, dried stone fruit? Decent body, some more carbonation there, but within parameters, sticky finish. Taste is sweet, lots of caramel, wood. Light bitter end
Zoet, smaakt een beetje oud ook, moutig, eikenhout. Wel lekker, maar ik ga nog kapot van m'n dürüm XL.
Clear brown colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are quite sweet and spicy. Hints of banana. Very woody. A bit too spicy for my taste.
Bottle shared. Dark red to red-brown color, beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, sweetish, caramalts, brown candy sugar. Decent to medium body, smooth soft texture, soft carbonation. Nice!
Bottle at home, dark amber, small head. Aroma is wood, malt, cherry, fruit, sweet. Taste is the same, sweet, light sticky, cherry hints, very nice, quite refreshing for a beer like this honestly --- Beer merged from original tick of La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch #37 on 07 May 2020 at 19:27 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 9. Corked bottle. Dark Amber color. Bubblegum, fresh wood and dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with lots of oak, dried cherries and bubblegum. Slightly alcoholic. Grenadine. Decent.
