Not a Bonzai Pipeline shout-out to brave Waimea Bay surfers, but a battle-cry for Japanese anime fanatics. This heavily hopped Waimee ale, with all its glorious citrus and pine, is our Super Saiyan moment. While brewing it we went all Goku and screamed ‘Kamehame-ha’ as we kicked some villainous hop ass. Brewed not in cartoon rage but in loving anime fandom. Akira Toriyama, you’re our hero.

Ruikt naar toiletblokje. Smaakt zo ook een beetje. Daarachter zit nog genoeg IPA smaak.

Can. Golden pour. Aroma of bitter citrus, grassy pine, grainy malt and grapefruit. Taste has grassy citrus, grainy malt, soft pine, grapefruit and a bitter finish. Not bad, but just a bit boring.

Can. Tropical fruit and hints of flowers in the aroma and flavor. Thinnish, sweetish, moderate hopbitter finish. Lots of fruit.

Can at Maakun’s. Almost clear yellow golden with white head. Hoppy, floral, grassy. Sweet and herbal spiced. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Slight hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of dank hops, citrus and herbal hops. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can shared at home. Clear yellow golden with small white head. Dry malts, dank weedy hops, crisp pils malts, soft oats, quite herbal, basil, lime peel. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with crisp and slightly dry feel.

Clear pale blond beer, practically no head. Aroma: fruity, some peach flavoured candy, very nice, lovely stuff, juicy notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice bitterness, tropical fruits, bitter, bit resinous, citrus notes, good! Aftertaste: nice and hoppy, bit fruity, grassy touch, good bitterness.
