14 October 2022. At Cloudcroft Brewing Company. Shared with the lovely Anke!
A: clear brown, thin, tan head.
A: toffee, dried fig, date, vague butter.
T: sweet date & fig, caramel & brown sugar.
F: herbal hops, dried fruit, caramel & warming liqueur-like alcohol.
P: medium body, oily texture, average carbonation.
Not very complex but nice on the palate.
Draft at the source. Dark brown color tan head. Caramel aroma. Taste is burnt lightly spiced caramel. Tasty.
On tap at brewery. This one walks the line, pretty "all right", but also seems to be missing something. Average pour with big dirty, peaty aroma. Nice feel, but taste is just a tad too sweet. Still on the edge of great, and solid Scotch.
