Bottle from HOTM. Deep brown colour with a thin off white head. Aroma and taste are malty sweet slight bitter chocolate. Sweet finish. Boozy body.

Barrique 2020 aged on Chardonnay. Clear light brown colour with quick fading head. This is packed with sweet honeyed malts. Subtle dried fruits. It's sweet but not cloying. Quite luxurious.

Sampled as Samichlaus Barrique Limited Edition Fast gone transparant head over clear dark copper beer. Sweet, alcoholic, caramelsyrup, sugarbread. Faint roasted caramel, giving just a hint at bitter over sweet. Syrupy in taste and feel, boozy beer. Sweet, alcoholburn, very slick to outright viscous. Too sweet for these times, and I even don't get the barrels' influence.

33cl bottle from 'Beers of Europe'; BB Nov 2024. Poured into huge 'Judas' glass at home on 1st Apr 2020. Might have been the wrong glass to use because the weak head disappeared almost immediately. The body a slightly hazed mahogany colour. Sweet and malty, almost like a barley wine in aroma, taste and body depth. Really enjoyed it, pity the head left so swiftly though.
