19/VII/22 - 50cl bottle as a gift, shared @ home, BB: 31/X/21, LA0292 21:55 (2022-888) Thanks to Arno for the beer!
Clear dark brown beer, big creamy beige head, little stable, a bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, some chocolate notes, good roast, a bit floral, soapy touch. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: a bit watery, gentle roast, a little bitter, a bit hoppy, more roast. Aftertaste: dry, roasted, some caramel, malty, bitter touch, dark chocolate, dry, a little soapy.
50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Lidl Culemborg.
Dark brown with a beige head. Nutty chocolate aroma. Sweet taste with a low bitter finish. A lot is going one for such a modest ABV beer. Quite nice.
500ml bottle: BB 28th Feb 2022. Poured into an Abbot Ale pint glass tankard at home with lunch on 21st May 2021. Brown bread with Bavarian Ham and Pickle Sandwich is the lunch. Mahogany red/brown, tanned foam on top. Malty nose, well carbonated body. Roasted malty flavour with a coffee like twist as it warms in the mouth. Obviously the alcohol content doesn't give it the richest or deepest body depth and it is a little 'thin', but I enjoyed it and as I might have to drive later this afternoon it's a perfect beer to have with me sarnie!
