Fully opaque ruby beer with no head. Vinous, Greek herbs, black/red berries. Blackberries, blackcurrant, other red/black berries, in a very concentrated fashion. Medium bodied, quite fruitslick. Excellent fruitbeer. Thanks to M&L!

Bottle. Pours deep purple with a fuzzy saturad pink head. Aromas of sweet raspberries, light lactic, subtle funk, big oaky presence. Taste has a shitload of sweet, dark raspberries. Super jammy. Heavy oaky, vanilla, vinous, light lactic, subtle funky notes. God damn this is gooood! One of the best SP sours I've had. Bring more black raspberries pluehs.

Bottle. Deep purple color. Loads of raspberries in the aroma. Sour flavor with sweetness from the dominant raspberry fruit. Just hints of oak. Really lovely!

0,375l bottle at home. Blend #3. dark purple color, small pinkish head. smells raspberries, earthy, grassy, light funk, marzipan, cinnamon, spices, some wood, light grapes, lactic. very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes of raspberries, light blackberries, marzipan, light grape notes, wood, grassy, earthy, lightly lactic, peppery. finishes dry and light to medium sour with notes of raspberries, blackberryish notes, and lightly grassy and lactic. very nice one, not super sour (yet) like some other SPs. quite a bit going on here. very good one.

Very impressed with this one after a few SP sours that were way too sour. Lovely fruit presence on a sour but not too sour and interestingly funky sour ale base. Very jammy raspberry presence. Hint of possibly perceived residual sweetness. Top notch stuff

375 ml bottle into tulip glass; Blend #3, bottled in 9/2017. Pours hazy very dark ruby red/purple color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy dark pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/sour/tart/tangy black raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of black raspberries, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, red wine barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge juicy/sour/tart/tangy black raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit/wine tang; and light yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour black raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leather/funk/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of black raspberries, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, red wine barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/tart/sourness and fruit/wine tang balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, and fruit/wine tang after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/grainy, and acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an amazing fruited sour/wild ale! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of black raspberries, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, red wine barrels, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; super smooth and easy to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic. Amazing balance of enormously juicy/jammy blackberries and Brett/Bacteria complexity; with great wine barrel presence/integration, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering acidic/tangy dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazingly top tier style example. Notes said #3 was 100% more fruit than the previous one, unreal amounts of fruit for sure.

Batch 2 Bottle into a taster showing dark purple with sparse dark purple foam. The nose shows intense notes of tart and juicy blackberry, plum, and raspberry. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Moderately tart with strong juicy raspberry forwardness throughout until the finish. Raspberry is juicy, tart and intense like puree. Fantastic

Blend #3 bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep ruby to burgundy color with a small purplish-pink head that dissipates to the edge of the glass. Love raspberry forward nose with oak, blueberry and faint strawberry jam notes. Notes of raspberry skin and seed on the palate. Fruit notes are strong with mild tannic seed and oak on the finish.

Wine barrel aged sour ale by this highly accomplished craft brewer in Missouri, with 'black raspberries' added, a particular type of raspberries native to eastern North America. Thin, fuchsia ring for a head with a flat 'island' in the middle, over a hazy dark purple beer, a beautiful 'purpureus' glow reminiscent of the applied fruit itself. Aroma of lots and lots of ripe black raspberries, red wine vinegar, dry cookies, dried lemon peel, raisin, very coarse red wine and wet wine barrel, tomato peel, sesame seed. Crisp sour raspberry acidity in the mouth, drying and astringent but still with a small sweetish fructose core accentuating the richness of the fruit juicy aspect in this beer; blue plum-, red apple- and BlackBerry-like notes as well. Softish carb, slick, drying acidity penetrating a slick wheaty-bready-cracker-like malt body eventually dried even further by wine barrel tannins and remainders of the wine within; still the lemony fruit acidity remains overpowering. Perhaps a tad much so: allowing for a little bit more 'rotund' sweetness can truly lift this type of clever and carefully made modern sours to an even higher level. Other than that, a beautiful and original 'deep purple' sour in all respects.
