Bourbon Barrel-Aged Wild Black Ale with Tart Cherries.

Black & Wild is the antithesis of most American Wild Ales. The robust nature of the intense acidity, bold Balaton cherries and chocolaty malt is layered with the deep notes of vanilla, spicy charred oak and cinnamon from the used Derivation bourbon barrels in which this beer matured for more than four years.

Taster at Spuyten Duyvil during Zwanze. Black color, small tan head. Smells of wood, bourbon, booze, marzipan, some glue, vanilla, very nice smell. Full body, light carbonation. Tastes of glue, booze, peppery notes, some wood, peppery, grassy. Finishes dry and lightly sour with notes of wood, peppery notes and some glue. Nice stuff, got super heavy once warm, but good overall 8,4,7,3,15

Bottle - Sour cherry, roast malts and barrel notes. Jet black with a thin beige head. Sour cherry, roast malts, some vanilla and chocolate. Almost like a well done Cherry filled chocolate. Funky, sour, rich and malty make this an awesome experiment in what you can do if you are willing to try.
