44cl can. A hazy yellow golden beer with a big white head. Aroma of dank, fresh grassy and citrusy hops, pale malt. Taste of grassy hops, citrus, flowers, hay, dank, some wheat. Moderate to long bitter finish.

Cloudwater NEDIPA with Citra, Motueka and Cascade, from can bought at Bier Bazaar, now just under three months old. Irregularly edged, busily shred-lacing, egg-white, slowly breaking and eventually almost dissolving head over an opaque-milky apricot blonde beer with deeper ochre-ish tinge. Powerful bouquet of sweet scented geranium, granadilla, orange zest, tangerine, green mango, sugared lime juice, gin, crumbled cookies, diesel, lemon verbena, freshly whipped cream, kaffir lime leaves, hints of ginger, biting stonecrop, cooked pear and a very vague background whiff of fried onion. Utterly fruity onset, soft and seemingly sweet due to the hop aromatics right from the start, light lime-like sourish undertone but mostly granadilla, rambutan, tangerine and lots of guava, full and creamy body, softly carbonated with some interesting minerally accents here and there; doughy, bit Dutch honey cake- and French brioche-like maltiness, thoroughly soaked in huge hoppy aromatics, filling the mouth cavity with a bright range of tropical and citrusy sensations, with guava, granadilla and tangerine persisting. The hops add spicy bitterishness in the finish, but gently so (even if a slight hop burn is noticeable when you get to the end of the can), just enough to counter the sweet impression (which, in this case, is nowhere exaggerated, contrary to what you get in many lesser NEDIPAs); a warming, gin-like alcohol glow assists in this balancing act, while the overwhelming aromatic effect of the three standard New World hop varieties are given free reign, ruling this beer from beginning to end in an extremely colourful, powerful, radiant way. "Juicy" is an understatement here and would not do this brew justice: this is as vibrant, expressive and 'suave' as it gets, offering an overwhelming sensory sensation while maintaining balance and class in a way one rarely sees in the genre. Cloudwater is often cited in the same phrase as the grandmasters of the New England IPA idiom (think Trillium, Tree House, Hill Farmstead and the like) and even though they are located in gloomy Manchester in old England, it is easy to see why; this is every bit as great as those American progenitors' strong NEIPAs. An immensely popular style nowadays in both the U.S. and Europe, the sheer quantity of attempts being made at NEIPA / NEDIPA by far exceed average quality, which is the main reason I have grown tired of hazy and juicy IPAs lately - but then I come across one of these, and my belief in the longevity and prosperity of this style is instantly restored. World class, and this particular one is certainly among the best Cloudwater NEIPAs I had to date.

Hazy milky golden pour with an off-whtie head. Notes of white grapes, dank pot, unripe tropical fruit, stone fruit, grapefruit, light piney hops. Soft texture, thicker than your average IPA, with a nice amount of carbonation and a bit of hop burn. Solid stuff.

Very cloudy murky beige beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very dank, spicy, some cardamom, some tropical fruits, pineapple. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very resinous, tropical fruits, dank hops, bitter, slightly sweet, lots of peaches, more bitter, resinous, sweaty feet. Aftertaste: nice, resinous bitterness, some tropical fruits, pineapple, piny, dry, very hoppy, dank, lovely stuff, slightly sweet, good bitterness.

Can: Poured a bright white yellow with a fluffy fast dissipating head. Aroma is melon, tropical, citrus. Taste is fruit juice, pineapple, melon, bitter hops, sweet mainly tho.

Can at home. Hazy orange Golden with almost white head. Massive dank juicy hops with peach, apricot, spruce, marinuana, white grapes and orange. There's some malts here unlike regulat Cloudwater IPAs but also some oats and a touch of alcohol. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Bit over medium bodied. Super drinkeble and very tasty. Lovely!
