Bottled. Deep brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is alcohol, cognal, some toasted fudge, caramel malts and mild acidity. Flavour is wooden tartness, some alcohol, toasted fudge, caramel and dried fruit. Somewhat dry in the finish.
Brownish black, with a crazy amount of floaters present. Smells somewhat sour, very oaky, some sweet cognac. Taste is more of the same, sour, loads of oak, some cognac and a subtle amount of cherry. The taste is pretty good, just seems a bit 1dimensional.
Well this looks weird, black lactic sourness with some tart cherries and a woody:oak barrel finish with some cognac, dry, alcohol, ok --- Beer merged from original tick of La Calavera Jellyfish on 11 May 2019 at 14:39 - Score: 7. Bottle. A Black Sour with Cherries aged in Cognac Barrels. Color: Dark, slightly reddish black, very thin beige head. Aroma: Fruity sourish. Taste: Acidic dark cherries, dark malt, sweetish Cognac notes, notes of wood, hints of caramel. Moderate to medium sour, moderate sweet, lightly bitter. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Medium to above medium body, low carbonation. Typical La Calavera sourness. Pretty nice.
