Bottled. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted, chocolaty, some alcohol, and mild toffee. Flavour is fruity, toffeeish, roasted and some chocolaty tones and some mild alcohol tones.
--Bottled, from Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. -- Black, rich firm head. RIch chocolate aroma. Mid dry with solid body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate dominate, but no cakeyness, more dark pure cocoa. Mid bitter finish. Not complex at all, but rather elegant and decidedly full flavoured.
Tap at Beer Hunters. It's years when I last time had a beer from Saigon. Toasted, coffeish and ashy aroma. Medium-bodied. Coffeish, chocolaty, ashy flavour. Some licorice hints too. A bit sweet, not much on hop side. Okish.
Sampled at Borefts Pre-Tasting 2019. Dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma is a bit dodgy I'd say. Flavor is malts, brown malts, dark caramel and rye notes. 6-3-6-3-13
Sampled at pre-Borefts tasting. Almost black with beige head. Dry cocoa, earthy, roasted malts, cocoa nibs, soft coffee, dead leaves, hazelnuts. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit dry finish.
Bottle shared at Pre-Borefts ‘19. Brown with a tan head. Aroma of cocoa, caramel and coffee. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Shared at Pre-Borefts Tasting 2019. A dark brown beer with a small beige lacing. Aroma of mild sweet dark malt, chocolate, vanilla. Taste of sweet dark moderate roasted malt, cocoa, lacto and vanilla.
Tap at the HCMC brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, dark chocolate, liqouirce, light dry charcoal. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth, rich, roasty, cacao, light oily, liqouirce hop bitter palate. Original review text: Tap at the Ho Chi Minh brewpub. Poured a hazy dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty ashtray, creamy caramel malts. The flavour is light sweet with a rich, smooth, dry, liqourice, dark chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Tap @Hair Of The Dog, Phrom Phong, BKK. Black, small beige head. Roasted malt and cocoa aroma. Sweetish flavour, chocolate and coffee, roasted malt.
250ml on tap at I'm happy thanks to My Beer Friend brewery. Thin beige head. Clear almost black pour. Lots of chocolate. Very good
