Bottle. Brown color. Malty sweet, soft roasty flavor. Caramel, a hint of metal, madeira. A hint of oak, soft herbal notes. Shyish aroma, somewhat vinous. Caramel and vanilla.
Bottle. Color: Dark brown, off-white head. Aroma: Sweetish, caramel, vinuous notes, Madeira. Taste: Medium sweet, malt, caramel, dried dark red fruit, apple, bread. Clear Brett notes. Light hints of raisins and nuts, sweetish and slightly sour red wine notes (Madeira, I presume), boozy hints. Medium body, below average carbonation. Quite nice. I think it is interesting to know the story about it on https://www.marblebeers.com/prize-old-ale/ to fully understand and appreciate this beer.
330 ml. bottle. Dark brownish orange amber, bigger head fizzes away. Nose is rotting fermenting fruit, spoiled wine, rotting oak, fermenting fruit & some odd sugar somewhere in there. Taste is rotting fruit, grape, pomegranate with sweet rotting wine, booze, spoiled fruit,.. Weird body. I really enjoyed the bourbon version but this one felt weird & off for me and not correct. Not sure if it just not my thing or something went off here but it is not my thing.
