Grunn Rode Hoan is het Groningse Koningck onder de Amber/Ale bieren. Dit ambachtelijke steekbier onderscheidt zich door zijn robijnrode glas en zijn bittere, krachtige en volle smaak. Rode Hoan wordt gebrouwen uit diverse geroosterde moutsoorten.

Sold as Grunn Rode Hoan (Grunnings for Red Rooster)amber ale. Yeasty cherry aroma. Fruity, slightly yeasty flavor (red berries). Just a hint of sourness. Unmemorable beer.

Clear deep amber colour, good frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma malty, toasted, caramel, pharmacy, leaves. Taste medium sweet, liquorice water. Light body, watery texture, flat carbonation, aftertaste sweetish, slightly bitter, meh.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Clear rusty orange color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly sweetish, leaves and something weird. Low to average body, firm carbonation. Meh.

Bottle @benzai shared by Ansjelaah. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Smells slightly stinkwants, herbs, garden. Tastes sweet, malts, herbs. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

Copper colour with fluffy head. Initial toasty malts and caramel. Taste has a metallic edge. Very sweet. Strong carbonation.

30cl Bottle from Mitra Heerhugowaard. BB 09-2009. Clear dark amber colour, soapy off white head. Aroma of bready malts, caramel, light flowery. Flavour is light sweet, malty, caramel, gains chemical/artificial flavours towards the finish, a bit plastic-like, light bitter finish. Light bodied. Meh..

Bottle 30cl. @ [ Back2Bock Tasting ].Clear light to medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, molasses. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081115]
