This ruthless Brut of an IPA combines our favorite hop-criminal kingpins – El Chapo, El Patron, Owl Capone and Don Perignon. At 8%, it’s a tough guy beer, but there’s enough bubbles in this gangsta to keep an Italian trophy wife happy. Ping! Pow! Boom! Bing! It's gonna be a good year! Oh, and remember, never rat on your friends.

I had thought this style had been made to dig its own shallow grave in the cane fields but apparently not. A boxed can! Brilliantly packaged. Pale gold with a slight haze and a good cm of white head. Aroma of light biscuit, gooseberries, light tropical fruit. And then it _is_ like an austere tripel with tropical hops - lean and very fruity with a solventy touch, some warmth and lowish bitterness. The best Brut IPA I've had (not a _very_ high bar, but still).

Can from Deconinck. Clear yellow, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of peach, white grape, melon, pineapple, champagne, mandarin zest. Taste has sweetish peach, grape & pineapple, sourish zesty accents, slightly bready-malty, some yeast & spices. Floral hoppy finish, lots of fresh yellow fruit enhanced by warming white wine-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Refreshing, really good in its style.

Pale yellow appearance with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a subtle citrus and sweet melon. Has some grassy bitterness too. Dangerously easy to drink.

26/II/21 - 33cl can from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: 8/IX/21, canned: 8/XII/20 (2021-160)

Clear pale blond to straw yellow beer, big aery fizzy white head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, some tropical fruits, juicy, citrus notes, bit yeasty, CO2, some banana peel, peaches. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: bit weird, metallic touch, unpleasant bitterness, same feeling I have with a lot of brut IPAs, a bit fruity, slightly sourish, spicy touch. Aftertaste: tropical fruits, peaches, hoppy, citrus notes. Not a big fan of this one. As much as I love all sorts of IPAs, Brut IPA isn’t one of them...
