Bottle. Black colored. Malt and licorice in the aroma. Hard to spot the Bunnahabhain. Malty sweet flavor with caramel, licorice and a hint of chocolate. Soft whisky notes, but i can’t spot any peat. Warming alcohol. Nice imperial stout, pleasant to drink, but not the best on the market.

33cl Bottle. Black colour, brown head. Aroma is sweet, lots of whisky, wood, sludge, liquorice, some coffee, brown sugar, roasted malts. Flavour is quite sweet, brown sugar, whisky, not the peated Bunna unfortunately, some roast, sludge, liquorice, sweet boozy finish. Full bodied.

Bottle @ PINT Winterbier 2015, small sample. Dark color, short frothy head. Aroma of soft peat, dark chocolate, roast, coffee, bit finger paint. Quite sweet and thick in flavor, some malty bitterness as well, not as dry from the peat. Peat is not overwhelming and the base beer is powerful enough to carry the BA. Surprised that this kind of stuff comes from De Pelgrim nowadays. Nice.

Sampled at PINT Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2015. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized dark brown head. Aroma is malts, roast, lovely whiskey influences. Taste malts, dark and roasted malts, whiskey, alcohol, a hint of sweet and nicely bitter. Full body, medium carbonation. Wow, I’m impressed. This is pretty damn good!

33 cl bottle @ home (11% according to label). Pitch black color. Big brown head, quickly receding to a thin layer. Aroma’s: first wood & some whisky, then heavy roasted malts, soy sauce/umami, alcohol/whisky, a bit wood. Retronasal there’s roasted malts, whisky, some chocolate, some fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, big chocolate. Alcohol is strong, warming. Body medium to full. Good carbo. Finishes sweet, roasted, ashy, light bitter. Fucking great!
