Orange-ish beer, small, aroma is brett/sour, herbal, fruity a bit, taste is the same. Dry aftertaste. Nice
One of Nevel's many herb sours with herbs harvested by the brewery itself, in this case wild yarrow and mugwort combined with cultivated thyme and rosemary. From a 75 cl bottle, thanks Erwin for sharing. Egg-white, mousy, irregular, bubbly, quickly opening head on a hazy peach-hued golden blonde beer. Aroma of sweet yarrow (quite pronounced), far less bitter mugwort, clear rosemary, less thyme and more in a dried than a fresh form, sour plums, old white wine, sourdough, kefir, unripe apricots, green gooseberries. Tart onset, sharpish gooseberry-like sourness with some green apple and even plum peel astringency, medium carb, supple cereally and bready body underneath pronounced, drying lactic sourness, becoming more and more coloured by both the wild (mostly yarrow) as the cultivated herbs (mostly rosemary), while thyme and mugwort remain a lot more subtle at least in the sample I got. Dryish, lactic-tart, herbal, pleasantly floral finish. An ode to blossoming plants indeed, one of the 'brighter' and more herbal Nevels. A very attractive and elegant sour ale in all respects.
Bottle. Blonde. Herbal, floral citric aroma. Peach. Malty yet dry, herbal flavor. Peach, herbal grass, citrus. Fairly complex, tasty and aromatic.
Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Moderate tart, herbal, bitter. Taste: Moderate tart, herbal, floral. Floral bitterness. Subtle medicinal herbal notes mostly at finish, reminding me of anti cough candies and menthol. Dry-ish mouthfeel, wood hints. Just under medium body, below average carbonation. Nice refreshing summer beer.
At brettfest. Aroma of funk, herbs, horseblanket oak and citrus. Taste has sweet herbs, yeast, funk, wheat and oak. Solid.
Bottle sampled at skatecafe. Hazy golden with white head. Sour grains, soft yoghurt, soft herbs, vanilla, flowery, light apricot, light lactic notes, a hint of sulphuric smoke. Medium sour, light sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Nice!
Bottle at skatecafe amsterdam. Unclear golden with white ring head. Sour grainy, stonefruit fruity, with floral blossomy rosey touch. Moderate sweet, bitter and sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.
