0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in April 2019. Hazy, dark amber with a thin, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity, slightly spicy and a little yeasty aroma of caramel, ginger, nutmeg and some orange peel. Just moderately sweet, slightly bitter, gently fruity, slightly spicy and a little yeasty taste of caramel, ginger, nutmeg, nuts and some bread crust, followed by a short, quite bitter, gently spicy and a little yeasty finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Unnecessary.
Cloudy deep amber to brown colour. Sticky off white head with some lacing. Aroma's of speculaas spices - clove, cinnamon, nutmeg - and some banana. Retronasal there's notably ginger and nutmeg with some wheaty sourness. Flavour is light bitter, herbal, with a hint of wheaty sourness. Light medium bodied. Finishes with a medium herbal/spicy bitterness. Pleasant.
