The Statement is our balaton cherry mead – made with the highest quality Traverse City balaton cherries, carefully selected honey and twenty years of experience – having gone through more than a dozen iterations. Living up to it’s name, this mead truly makes a statement due to its incredible expression and depth of flavor and character rendered from honey and Michigan tart cherries. A natural complement to chocolate and sharp or blue cheeses, The Statement also pairs well with grilled pork, and makes a terrific reduction sauce for desserts. Bottle, at share, thanks to me. Pours deep red. Cherry, sweet intense cherry, floral honey, raspberry, slight tartness. Oily body. Incredible.

26/7/20: 05/08/2018. Wooo, more amazing Schramms. With cherries on top! Tons of fruit, super intense, very jammy. I can really see the roast pork thing working, here, or on icecream. Still some sweetness from the honey, but it's all about the cherry. Amazing stuff

2/8/20: Bottled 05/08/2018. Saved a bit, just as great. Light sweetness, loads of cherry and cherry pits, some acidity from the fruit and a nice bit of honey in the background. Ends quite dry, but the cherry lingers for ages. Brilliant stuff. Put it over icecream.

24/12/21: 09/18/2019. Side by side with Lutowka. Deep dark red, viscous but not thick. Smell is sweet, ripe cherries, schwarzwalder kirsch. Quite boozy, soft but a tad thin. Taste is full cherry, including the pits, some tannins. Real lovely, great jammyness.
