BD 24112020. Slightly reddish black, fine layer of tan head. Smells soft, sweet, some raisins, maple. Very sticky, nicely smooth, some sharp carbonation. Taste is sweet, rich. Lots of caramel at first, something coffee'esque, wood, ending on sweet maple.
Pours black, medium small tanned head with medium low stability. Scent is intense, roasty, maple underneath, promising ! Taste is very full, creamy, roasty, intense, clear maple sweetness. Lovely balanced ( a gift that few posses, but pohjala keeps proving time and again ! ) touch of bitterness and alcohol, but oh-so smooth.
0.33 l bottle, wax top. Shared in the Dungeon. Dark brown, small beige head. Roasty, peated, oak, a fruity touch, spices. Peated malt flavour, oak and roasty, oaky and roasty, dark chocolate, burnt touch. Sweet, although not too much, thick and heavy. Overall a bit too heavy, a bomber, a sipper.
Enormous thanks Marko from Sombor for sharing! :D At Valhalla. Pitch black body, dark brown head if I remember correctly. Enormous maple in the aroma, backed with big chocolate, some caramel and some barrel notes. Sweet, but drinkable taste, maple, and caramel leading the way, followed by light chocolate and some brown sugar touches. DId I say it was drinkable? It damn well is, and clean, without any aggressive alcohol presence. This is a very, veeeery well made beer. Hats off!
Black, moscovado sugar, sugarcane. Sweet roasted. Maple. Big sweet. Massive. Nice.
Bottle shared thanks to Alexander. Almost black with brown head. Massive maple, milk chocolate, milk chocolate, light earthy, cinnamon, booze, cognac, more maple. Quite sweet, solid medium bitter. Full bodied. Nice maple!
330ml bottle at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, big maple syrup. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet, with a rich, roasty, oaky, light warm alcohol, sweet chocolate, liqourice, maple syrup palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation. Superb.
Very dark brown and oily with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have obvious maple notes but also wood, mocha, dark chocolate, raisins, dates and roasted coffee. The background earthiness of maple gives a nice roundness to the beer and the sweetness feels totally natural. Silky mouthfeel.
