Gut! 10/11/10/11/12/11
Lovely. So perfectly balanced. Soft for 10%. Dark berries, mild vineous, light tobacco spices, wood/barrel. Mild brett funky. Mild acidic.
0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', bottled October 2020. Almost clear, ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, vinous-fruity aroma of balsamic vinegar, red grapes, oak, light caramel and a touch of funk. Minimally sweet, gently sour, rather vinous-fruity, quite woody taste of red wine, balsamic vinegar, lots of oak, leather and some caramel, followed by a medium long, quite tart, fairly woody, gently vinous and slightly funky finish. Medium body, gently astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Fairly complex, rather well-balanced, still quite demanding beer. Really good!
Bottle. Golden chestnut, offwhite foam ring. Intense plum in red wine aroma, balsamic, christmas spices. Medium full body, dry wooden leathery mouthfeel. Plums and berries (blackberry, blueberry skin), dry spices, fitting vinegar tartness, brandy, salt, chocolate. Complex, intense, but moreish as well.
33cl bottle. A slightly hazy reddish brown beer with a white head. Aroma of dark red fruits, brett, raisins, wood. Taste of dark Red fruits, caramel, dried tart fruits, grapes, brett.
