Sampled 2023. pours hazed blonde, no real head. Scent is malty, full, finer acidity. Taste is full, malty, de troch lambic - like. moldy, finer acidity yet very rough , old wet wood. Mild citrus. not a lot of carbonation.
Trockener, eher mild säuerlicher Antrunk. Süffig, milde Bitterkeit, wenig holzig. Erfrischend mit vergleichsweise geringem Tiefgang, hell malzig, mild. Kurzer Abgang. 10/9/11/8/8/9
Bottled 05-03-'18. Small but firm puff. Lightly cloudy yellow, fine white head, nice bubbles. Smell is real funky, sharp goats cheese. Body is soft, light, with some lovely carbonation. Soft sourness, loads of wood, dust and funk, tiny bitter. Real goaty.
Great! But yesterday's 2018 version was better.
LCI BAB... Great! Nice evolution... green apples in the smell and taste... Top Oude Geuze
Bottle 37.5cl. capped and corked, botteldatum 5/3/2018, bought and cellared 23/11/2018, @home poured into a tumbler. Nose sour and wood. Hazy medium amber colour, small frothy white head, diminishing slowly, light lacing. Sour aroma, vinegar, sour apples, wood, horse blanket. Smooth sour and slightly sweet taste (especially in the outset), brett, woody notes, touch of apple. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, fruity sour and sweet aftertaste, woody, tart, refreshing, easy to drink, a good well-made smooth geuze lambic.
Nice!
Clear gold with a decent white head. Nice funk and a touch of petrol. Light soured notes, touch of the funk and petrol and a nice finish.
170404. Very nice if a hint simple. Has also developed nicely sporting some suiting Sherry oxidation.
4/20 bottle. Clear gold with a white head that lasts OK. Grainy aroma with moderate funk, lemons, flowers. Lowish carbonation. Fruity with some stone fruit (and stones) oldish lemon, some oak. Moderately sour. Could use just a little more intensity but the complexity it has whilst remaining very easy drinking is just what I like.
