Canned (from Pieni Olutpuoti Humala, Pori). Hazy yellowish orange colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, passion fruity, some mild nectary and wooden tones. Flavour is fruity, some passion fruit, nectar, wood and mild herbal tones with a wee bit of salt.
Can, buyalong offer from Mikkeller CPH. Cloudy golden, low head. Raspberry, passion nose. Medium light, dry salty body, some chalky grainy hay malt, chewy, spicy fruity notes, a hint smoke retronasal. Quite nice interpretation.
Tap at Pozoj Fest Zagreb. San Diego version. Almost but not fully clear golden body. Passionfruit, citric, pineapple, sharp, lactic acidity, both in the aroma and in the taste. My notes are sparse, but I appear to have liked it quite a bit.
--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Cloudy straw colour. Citric passionfruit aroma. Tart with medium body and clean hard mouthfeel. Citric acid, passionfruit juice and metal. Low bitterness. Boring and pointless.
22 May 2021. Eurovision Tasting with the lovely Anke! Can from Geers. Hazy yellow, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of actual passionfruit flesh, pineapple, coconut, yoghurt, yellow nectarine, tangerine, lemongrass. Taste has lots of sour passionfruit along end-of-stonefruit & mandarin; sweetish creamy & yoghurty malt profile, bit salty-minerally. Tart, fruity finish, lingering yellow fruit, mostly passionfruit of course, lowest touch of wheat. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Very fresh, refreshing, enjoyable.
Passionfruit Gose by Mikkeller, thanks Steve for sharing. Thin and immediately open, snow white head, eventually disappearing altogether over a cloudy yellow blonde beer. Aroma breathes an enormous amount of real passionfruit indeed, over much more subtle hints of salted lemon, ripe apricot, guava, green banana, fresh cucumber, sourdough, minerals. The extreme ‘passionfruitiness’ is repeated in the onset, very pure and immediately recognizable, juicy, tropical, sweet-and-tart with a salty touch at the edges reminding me of the fact that this is indeed intended as a Gose; cucumber, guava and lime impressions accompany the passionfruit over a sourdoughy middle, lactic in nature, drying, but the juiciness is kept intact by the sheer intensity of the passionfruit; citrusy note in the end too, with everything remaining bright and vibrant till the last drop. I guess this is what the present-day craft beer hipster expects from what is basically a Florida Gose, but this has little connection with the old German Gose as such.
473mml. can. @home, 15/12/2020. Day 15, Mikkeller Advent Calendar. [#3.681 Global - #432 United States of America - #4 Mikkeller San Diego] Hazy golden with a minimal and vanishing white head. Aroma is full of passionfruit, mineral and sea salt. Taste is light salt and a bunch of passion fruit leading to a tart and acidic finish. Next one please!
