Sample (thanks omhper!). Yellow colour, no head. Aroma is fruity, wooden and some slight tart tones. Flavour is fruity, some tart tones with some berries and fruits with some wooden tones. A little bit more carbonation would be good for this one.
10 July 2022. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst (Eizeringen). Cheers to the lovely Anke!
Clear golden, very thin, white head. Aroma of unripe plum, orange peel, lemonbalm, lemon acid, mown grass, juniper. Taste has sourish plum, grape & lemon; spicy & acidic edge of juniper and wet straw. Grassy hops in the finish along funky, tart lemon & young stonefruit, juniper adding a spicy and somewhat perfumey effect. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Juniper works well here, but it's not my favourite of this series.
Pours a very hazed blonde, creamy white head. Scent is fairly mild on the juniper, but not absent. Taste is medium tart, medium dry, loads of fruityness from the lambic (apple), far milder on the juniper, as it provides only a whiff of herbal character. Smooth drinker.
On tap at Cafe Pardaf. A hazy orange beer with a white lacing. Aroma of tart orange fruits zest, vinegar. Taste of sour grapes, apples brett, peach.
Draught Bit fluffy off-white head, disparate, over darker orange hazy beer. Delicate, resiny, woody, farmyard odours, faraway conifer. Lightly perfumey, quite woody, farmyard and essential oils and resins. Orangepeel, bit mouldy. Tart, dry-out effect, low carbonation, slick. Good one! Delicate despite the ingredient - that, BTW completes the circle from lambic to sahti, koduolu, kveik and the rest. Compulsory sampling!
2/VII/21 - 3.1L bag-in-box from the brewery @ Gentse Biervereniging lambiektasting pt. 2, BB: 27/III/22 (2021-560)
Little cloudy orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: spicy, very funky, lots of orange peel, cellar, musty, fruity, citrus notes, funghi. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity touch, quite some orange peel, pretty bitter, dry, lots of tannins. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, citrus fruits, tannins, brett, funky, more bitter and dry tannins. Nice one, actually like it.
Bag-in-box, from Systembolaget. Hazy deep straw colour, almost flat. Citric, funky barnyard aroma. Tart with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Barnyard and mild citric acid, a slight touch of juniper needles. Concentrated lemon juice meets horse blanket and barnyard. Mild bitterness. The juniper really stays in the background, not overshadowing the lovely lambic.
