He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the richly varied domain of prokaryotic microorganisms, Jelly King reigns supreme.

Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop (Citra, Amarillo, and Cascade), harnessing the pleasing acidity of lactic acid producing bacteria (we use a 5-strain house blend), and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky 2 year slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of having your cake and eating it too.

This limited edition Jelly King variant was conditioned on loads of raspberry and blackberry purée.

This vibrant variation of Jelly King displays intense aromatics and flavours of freshly picked blackberries, raspberry compote and Swedish Berries.

11 September 2021. At Summer Belgian Beer Geek Gathering. Many thanks, Klaas & Liesbeth, cheers to the whole crew!

Hazy red, small, pink head. Aroma of raspberry, cassis, yoghurt, macaroon, sorbet, strawberry. Taste has sweet-sour raspberry, cassis & blueberry in a yoghurty, slightly biscuity malt body. Tart, red-fruity finish, bit acidic but not tannic per se. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Good, easy-drinking almost.

Pours unclear purple, small white head. Scent is sweet-ish (by the fruits) . Taste is tart, fruity. Mild sweetness trough the intense fruityness. Very decent, but not extremely memorable.

11/IX/21 - 50cl bottle @ BBGG Summer Edition (Klaas & Liesbeth's place), BB: n/a, bottled: 17/II/21 (2021-1025) Thanks for sharing the bottle!

Cloudy deep ruby to purple beer, practically no head. Aroma: super fruity, lots of raspberry jam, blackberries, blueberries, very nice! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter, lots of tannins, cherry skin, berries, raspberries, bit sourish, metallic touch. Aftertaste: rather dry, funky, lot of tannins, bitter finish. Not as good as I had hoped from the aroma…

Bottle, at share, thanks to Ryan. Pours red purple. Raspberry, blackberry, light tartness, nice hedgerow earthy blackberry notes. Medium body. Excellent.

500ml bottle. Pours a beautiful cloudy magenta with a medium, frothy, long lasting, pink head that leaves soapy lacing. Sweet fruity aroma of raspberry jam and blackberry with grainy wheat malt in the background. Sweet fruity flavour of raspberry jam, blackberry, lemon, bready wheat malt and oats in a dry, tart, slightly acidic finish. Medium body with a creamy smooth texture and soft carbonation. Just lovely. A must try.
