Draught Foxy amber, clear beer under very dense yellowish head. Wood, lactic acid, hints at brown candi sugar, lactic ferments. Wood, bit dusty, felt, musk, watercolour paint. Seriously dry if not very sourish, though lactic acid is there. Hints at sour cherries and other red fruit, mould. Not very carbonated, flat, quite slick, medium bodied at best. Nice, but somewhere you get the impression it could have been better in several directions, as if the beer is tired. Puzzling.
19/VII/20 - 50cl bottle (hand bottled) from the brewery, as a gift, shared @ home, BB: n/a (2020-656)
Little cloudy orange to amber beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: butterscotch, caramel, some diacetyl, toast, grains, malty, slightly smoky. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: smoky start, bit sourish, tannins, wood notes, bit lemony, caramel. Aftertaste: dry, tannins, bit malty, wood notes, some orange peel, little oxidized, some diacetyl, caramel.
The beer came in a container made of glass. Cloudy orange to copper, Big golden head, slow gusher. Dry barrel aged fruit salad aroma. Foamy, fairly fruity, medium body. Bit like a cocktail served in a old wooden cup. Pineapple, cocktail cherry, pears. Drier and more put together when you beat the carbonation out of it.
Bottle. Deep amber-reddish color with fluffy white head. Aroma is very fruity, berries, light barrel funk, a touch darker malts, white wine. Taste is berries, amarena cherries, a touch chocolate, light funk, white wine again, candied fruit. Oily mouthfeel with soft but rather high carbonation, boozy aftertaste. Quite tasty, but jonas's wild homebrew is at least as good. Barrel fermented fruit salad.
Bottle shared. Fairly hazy golden orange with an off white head. Aroma of brett, oak, vinous notes and tart grapes. Flavour is moderate sweet, bitter and light sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation,
Bottle from Beerseekers box. Hazy amber colour, white foam. Tart, citrussy, brett. Taste is rather sour, grainy, bit unbalanced.
THT November. Bottle. Murky amber with white head. Sweet malts, canilla, oak, raisans, caramel, yeasty. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and strong carbonation.
Bottle at THT November. Slight gusher. Bit hazy amber with big fluffy beige head. Soft lemon, wheat, tart berries, light yeast, bready, soft funk, more citrus, vanilla oak, dry earthy oak too. Just medium sweet, sour and bitter in a nice balance. Over medium bodied with quite some carbonation. Complex and enjoyable. It’s not a barley wine at all.
Large bottle split bottle & cost with Kraddel. Small gusher, foam keeps rising inside the bottle, filling it. Amber orange, huge creamy tanned head, collapsing. Nose is weird brett, orange, smoke, leather, orange peel, cleaning product,… Carbonation is way, way too high, ruins it. Taste is total mess of over carbonated brett, smoke, leather, brett, orange peel, dark bread, malt, plastic, sugar,… Carbonation so high. Total mess of so many things, did they blend & try to rectify bad barrels or what? Total mess.
